Die Cutting started as a process of cutting leather for the footwear industry in the mid 1800's. Die cutting is still extensively utilized in the industry, but it has now evolved into other industries such as rubber, foam, plastics, cork, gasketing, etc. We have 4 traveling head presses and one full head press.
Skiving is the thinning of a piece of leather or plastic using a sharp tool. The thinning of these materials allows for a shoe or boot to not "shadow" in the boxtoe or counter area. Leather is typically skived to thin it out to aid in the manufacture of leather goods such as shoes, bags, belts, etc.
For the Footwear Industry: Boxtoe presses, leather conditioning steamers, hand irons, shank cementers
