The Right Backing for Refined Finishes Built for toughness and precision as well as value, the 3M™ Stikit™ Red Finishing Film Abrasive Disc 260L delivers
best-in-class performance (PDF, 2.4 Mb) for a variety of finishing applications such as sanding prior to painting, leveling minor dust nibs and smoothing mismatched orange peel in paint or gelcoat before compounding and also scuff sanding — the disc is faster and easier to use than traditional scuffing pads, plus there's no drying time that you get with wet sanding. This reattachable disc features flexible film backing that resists tears and maintains a smooth, consistent cutting surface without imperfections that can transfer through to the finished piece.
Tough Abrasive, Smooth Results The 3M™ Stikit™ Red Finishing Film Abrasive Disc 260L features fast-cutting, long-lasting aluminum oxide mineral abrasive. Aluminum oxide is popular among collision repair professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness and strength, it is widely used for grinding in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Our Stikit™ Attachment System 3M™ Stikit™ discs come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backs. Simply press the disc onto the backup pad and you're ready to go. They remove just as cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit™ disc should be used with a
3M™ Stikit™ Disc Pad (we suggest PN05576, PN05556 low profile or PN05546 finishing pad, all sold separately) on a
3M™ Random Orbital Sander (PDF, 1.8 Mb).
We've Got Your Back The film backing on these abrasive discs is a combination of science and strength — smooth, flexible, durable and ideal for refined auto body finishing work. The 3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc 260L resists loading for long disc life and delivers a consistently sharp cut for better auto body operations.
