Cleaning Contaminated Surfaces Operators seeking an efficient abrasive sheet that swiftly cleans contaminated surfaces will appreciate the Scotch-Brite™ Hi Pro Sheet. The sheet is commonly used in facilities care and cleaning, because it wipes away scuffs and imperfections without gouging the surface of the workpiece when moderate pressure is applied.
3M engineers the Scotch-Brite™ Hi Pro Sheet by combining aluminum oxide mineral and non-woven polyester fibers with resin to form an open web. The aluminum oxide mineral cuts sharp but leaves a soft scratch pattern. Non-woven fibers are spongy and responsive so as not to gouge the workpiece.
The conveniently shaped 6" x 9" pad may be used by hand or with a sanding block, so operators can easily access hard-to-reach areas. The non-rusting fibers on this synthetic pad are an ideal replacement for steel wool or stainless steel scrubbers. It may also be used with compounds or cleaning agents for additional help with removal if desired.
The Many Benefits of Open Web Abrasives Non-woven technology makes Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives unique. A combination of fiber strands, resin, and abrasive mineral forms a thick, open web. The spring-like nature of the fibers responds to contours and effectively removes unwanted burrs, soils, and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, which in turn reduces rework and boosts productivity.
Gaps in the web allow swarf to escape, so debris does not clog the mineral. Fibers in the web continually break down with use to reveal fresh mineral for exceptional consistency, superior cut performance, and extremely long service life. From aesthetic finishing to weld blending, deburring, and more, Scotch-Brite™ abrasives (PDF, 1 Mb) work fast and deliver consistent results, part after part.
