The Box Toe
Also called the "toe box" or "boot cap."
Box Toe | Vamp | Quarter | Insole | Tongue | Heel Cap
The box toe is the part of the shoe that covers and protects the toes. It is surrounded by another part of the shoe called the vamp. The size of the box toe needed will depend on the size of the foot and the activity performed. For example, running shoes should have wide box toes to counteract swelling in the feet. The correct size box toe allows for natural movement that prevents complications such as crooked toes, blisters, and arthritis.
